Student Opportunities

Community Service Hours

Is your student looking to earn hours for school, class, or scholarships? We provide students the ability to earn community service hours at time through our Share-A-Meal, Baking Buddies, Kit Creation and Wish List opportunities.

Please consider one or all the following options:

Prepare a meal for one of our Houses for 3 hours of credit. To receive credit for your hours, please bring your paperwork to be signed by the Manager on Duty during your scheduled Share-A-Meal.

Participate in Baking Buddies in one of our Houses for 2 hours of credit. To receive credit for your hours, please bring your paperwork to be signed by the Manager on Duty during your scheduled Baking Buddies.

Click here for Baking Buddies opportunities.

Donate 5-10 items (cumulative value of $50-$75) from our Wish List to earn up to 5 hours. These can be donated from our Amazon Wish List to be sent directly to our Ronald McDonald Houses. Alternatively, the student can donate in person our top needed Wish List items, including toilet paper, paper towels, k-cups, Ziplock bags, and dish soap.

To receive credit for your hours when donating in person, please bring your paperwork to be signed by the Manager on Duty. If ordering items off of the Amazon Wish List, please email volunteer@rmhccf.org with a screenshot of the items ordered and a scanned copy of your paperwork.

Create kits for our guest families for 5 hours of credit for every 25 kits donated. To receive credit for your hours, please bring your paperwork to be signed by the Manager on Duty when donating the kits in person.

Please note, while the kits may be completed as a group, 25 kits need to be created per individual student for each
student to receive the 5 hours. See our Kit Creation and Wish List page for more information on our Kit Creation opportunity.

Write a 500-word essay for 3 hours of credit and submit to volunteer@rmhccf.org. Use the following questions to help frame your essay.

  • Find a story! Is there anyone you know who has stayed at RMH?
  • Who does RMHC help?
  • What is our history both locally and globally?
  • How do you plan to inform and engage your community about RMHCCF in the future?

Due to the unique nature of volunteer placements, we are unable to accept court mandated volunteers.

Make a Difference for Families & Children

Parents don’t know when their children will need medical help. But they should know they can always access the care they need. And with your help, we can support them all throughout their journey.
